There are a lot of exciting museums and places such as the Schmuckmuseum at the Reuchlinhaus with its collection of jewellery originals from five milleniums, which is singular in the world. At the Schmuckwelten Pforzheim, Europe's unique shopping and experience centre on more than 4000 square metres, the visitor is sent on a journey through real and virtual worlds of experience all around the subject of jewellery and clocks.

But Pforzheim has more to offer than jewels and culture. Being the centre of the northern Black Forest region, the city provides an ideal starting point for any Black Forest holidaymaker. For more than a century, hikers have set off for the Western, Eastern and Middle high level walking routes through the Black Forest from here.

You can drive or take the train through the landscape to Bad Wildbad in about 45 minutes. There, hot springs invite you to relax, and a ride on the mountain railway to the Summer Mountain top is the ideal start for a successful walk through the forest.
