bed & breakfast Hamburg: private rooms, rooms for fair visitors, apartments,
vacation homes and accomodation for workers away on a job, matching all tastes and budgets.

Welcome to Hamburg, the city of tall blondes and infinately many bridges, in fact, 2300...the city with the most bridges on the whole European continent. These are facts with which you may already be acquainted. We'd like to share some personal tips and recommendations that make a trip to Hamburg even more memorable.

Tips
Imagine this: You are sitting in an open boat on the Alster or paddling in a canoe through the Alster canals, past the grand Hamburger villas, through narrow romantic brooks north to the Stadtpark. There you can bask in the sun before making your way back. Afterwards you take a stroll around the Alster to the lovely art-deco cafe "Schwanenwik", mecca of Hamburg's literati, where you can browse through books as you enjoy the delicious food. Or have a drink among the beautiful people in cafe “Cliff”, where you have a nice view at the lake and the boats.

But also seen from a sligthly less sophisticated angle, Hamburg is just striking. The lively, central districts of Ottensen, Schanzenviertel, Eimsbüttel and Portugiesenviertel (Portuguese quarter) cater for all tastes. Numerous Portuguese cafés have settled in over the last years, offering yummy white coffee, toasts and croissants - to be enjoyed outside and at all seasons, of course, while watching the busy street life.

It is also fun to stroll through one of the many weekly markets. Besides the famous Hamburg Fish Market (Sun), there are unique markets in almost all parts of town. See the eco-market in Altona (Wed + Sat), visit the Ise-Markt (Tue + Fri) set under a long underground railway brigde, and enjoy the very charming ambience of the market on Großneumarkt (Wed + Sat).

The Schanzenviertel is of special interest to nightowls, as there are a number of nice sidewalk cafes as well as colorful clubs. Or you can see a musical and sightsee on the Reeperbahn, count the still beloved Helmut Schmidt caps in one of the many bars, or dare to visit the "Erotic Art Museum". Those over 30 can dance at "Atisha" in Barmbek on Fridays, where the theme is "Fountain of Youth" (don't forget ID).

Nights you can return exhausted from the many facets of Hamburg back to your comfortable quarters. After you wake up, your host lovingly prepares breakfast , and after a chat and some advice you are prepared for the coming day.
