bed & breakfast Ettlingen: private guest room, b&b, rooms for fair visitors, apartment, holiday flat, vacation home and accomodation for workers away on a job, matching all tastes and budgets..

The name is deceptive: The longed-for peace and quiet of the Count Karl Willem is over. I greet you from the youngest German town with the sunniest climate, which also makes it one of the liveliest German towns...

Tips
"Don't Touch" is the motto at most museums...not so at the ZKM, the Center for Art and Media Technology, where the word is "Please Touch"... or how else will visitors experience the world of new media? You can walk through a virtual architecture museum, bring people from different eras and places in contact, or direct a computer-staged play. And while you are touring museums, you can visit the Musee d'Art Moderne in Strasbourg by bus.

You can also visit Strasbourg, as well as Speyer, by water, on a Rhine ship tour. After a boat ride of a few hours you will dock for about 2 -3 hours before cruising back. And Karlsruhe offers more than high - tech; what could be more traditional than a steamship cruise down the Albtal? Karlsruhe is called the "gateway to the Black Forest". You can see the Schlossfestspiele (festival of plays) in Ettlingen, between the Alsace and the Black Forest, presented in a romantic castle.

I recommend the gourmets among you to try our Badische Spargelstrasse (asparagus trail), Germany´s asparagus mecca. You can help harvest the asparagus, and learn everything about its preparation and recipes on an asparagus farm. And then, enjoy a fine meal, accompanied by our renowned white wine.

Or, how about a visit to the world famous riding institute E. von Neindorff? And beer lovers can visit the Vogelbräu brewery, where you can try their black beer at a jazz brunch, or in the evenings in the company of Karlsruhe natives.

And where will you lay your head after such an evening? Of course... our Karlsruhe and Ettlinger hosts will be pleased to make your stay a pleasant one.

I am looking forward to your visit!
